The "Ghost of Halloweens Past" Giveaway

Y'all ready for another giveaway? I thought so. This time, we're keeping it super-duper simple.

I'm giving away a signed copy of my book, An Unlikely Match. This "ghost story" romance is set in Wales in the early 1800s on the grounds of a haunted estate against the backdrop of the ancient Welsh holiday of Nos Galan Gaeaf (October 31st--see the Halloween connection??) a night of ghosts, graveyards, and phantom sows that eat children.

So, here's the easy-peasy way to enter:
  • Leave a comment here on this blog post, and/or on the facebook post linked HERE telling me your favorite halloween costume from your own halloween past, your children's halloween past, your imaginary halloweens past, etc.
  • Each comment is an entry.
  • Enter as many times as you'd like.
  • Contest closes Sunday night at 11:59pm.
  • Contest open to US & Canada.
  • On Monday morning (10/14/2013), I'll randomly select a winner from amongst all the entries.

It's really that simple!

Most favorite costume would definitely have to be the "classy wench" costume my sister put together for me. No cleavage, but all feisty and cute! Can we wear skirts and head wraps like that more often? I felt awesome!

My favorite costume was Minnie Mouse. Ironically, I don't actually remember wearing it... but the pictures always make me smile.

A few years ago I was a chimney and my son was Santa Claus. Favorite costume ever! It may even be my pic when I comment on Blogger blogs.

I friend (male) dressed up as Miss Piggy. Rubber pig nose, blond wig, and pink long johns with baby bottle nipples glued on down the front. I died laughing. Seriously.

And once, my son-in-law dressed up as Ursula the Sea Witch from The Little Mermaid. It was an awesome, awesome costume. He won for best costume at his work.

Probably my fairy ballerina costume when I was 5. Or Princess Leia--I had the perfect braids for that.

One favorite is this fluffy chicken costume several of my kids have worn. It has real feathers all over it, almost as if you'd sewn feather boas all over it LOL.

I love the classics when it comes to Halloween. Nothing can top the perfect witch...there are so many creative costumes out there for sure. But I get a little giddy when I see a great witch. AWESOME!

Best Halloween of costumes involved the department where I worked. We were all characters from Harry Potter and turned the office into Hogwarts. Everyone got so into it, it was great!

Favorite Halloween costume would have to be when my daughter went as a bubble gum machine. We stuffed a clear garbage bag full of balloons and then put her in it.

My most comfortable Halloween costume was when I went as Cinderella - before the ball. But I think my most creative was Princess Peach from Mario Bros. I even made a crown and everything!

As a child it seems as if I always wanted to be a princess. I guess there was just something about being dressed up in a pretty gown for one night to make you feel really special. I loved it! Probably my favorite of all my princess costumes has to be my sleeping beauty dress. Blue not pink. Haha! I loved it!

The year my daughter was three and my son was two, I dressed them as Bonnie and Clyde. They were the most adorable little bank robbers ever! I even had my son haul around a flute case for his "Tommy Gun" (a violin or guitar case was a bit big for him.) My daughter still uses her flapper dress and fur coat for dress ups!

I usuallly don't dress up for Halloween, but if I did, I would want to be a Southern belle! I have all boys, so that would be fun and different!

My favorite costume would have to be a gypsy outfit that I wore for a Halloween dance complete with hoop earrings, raggedy shawl, headscarf and a magic eight ball (my crystal ball). I loved this costume mainly because it was what I was wearing the first time I danced with the man who was to be my husband. He always remembers that costume and therefore it's my favorite!

Last year I was Rosie the Riveter. Loved wearing my hair in the bandana and bright red lipstick.

After years of pleading I finally talked my 9 year old son into being Ralphie from a Christmas story! Just bought fabric for the bunny suit. I have to finish my youngest daughters costume first. She will be Agnes from Despicable Me 2 wearing a princess dress and riding an ugly white unicorn. I laugh each time I sit down to work on it. Last year was amazing too. My Oldest son dressed as Dr. Horrible, while my husband dressed as Captain Hammer and I dressed as Captain Hammer's groupie with a t-shirt that had my husbands face on it. So hilarious. the creepiest costume however was one my Mom made when we were young. She made the most realistic E.T. costume I have ever seen. I still have nightmares about it. Anytime we'd open the hall closet the breeze from opening the door would rustle the clothing and his glowing finger would fall out from among the coats. I still can't stand watching E.T. Makes me shudder just thinking about it!

A few years back, My 3 year old daughter was Rapunzel, my baby boy was Pascal, and I was Mother Gothel. All the little kids wanted to stay away from me, hahaha! (That "hahaha's" to be read in a witchy cackle, by the way!)

I make my kids their Halloween Costumes. My favorites so far have been when they picked literally characters to dress up as Fancy Nancy and Pinkalicious. It was pretty much just awesome (even though not many people knew who they were)

Probably my favorite costum when I was little was my Princess Leia costume my mom made. Although I would have loved to have been Princess Buttercup too.

My favorite Halloween costume is a Cinderella costume my aunt made me when I was about 5. I loved that dress so much. . .and I'm pretty sure I almost wore it to pieces. Literally. It was so beautiful and I felt like a princess!

My favorite Halloween costume was our family costumes last year. My husband was Luigi (complete with mustache) I was princess daisy and our baby boy was baby Luigi (no mustache). He was the cutest baby Luigi ever!

Strangely, I might love his (my little boy's) costume this year even more as he is to be a mad scientist in training. Kids are so cute in their little costumes. I just love it.

I attended our church Halloween party as one of my early morning seminary students (she used to show up wearing a bath robe and big furry slippers). I mussed my hair and chose not to wear makeup. One of my other students asked in all sincerity if I was sick. He tactfully told me I looked terrible.
