Drops of Gold, coming January 2013

Drops of Gold

When her father dies and leaves her completely destitute, Marion can think of only one thing to do--make a new life for herself. Commencing a life of duplicity, Marion transforms herself into Mary Wood--governess. In possession of a forged letter of recommendation and cloaked in the anonymity of her new identity, she enters a life of self-imposed servitude as teacher and caretaker of young Miss Caroline Jonquil of Farland Meadows. Her idyllic daydream vision of life at the Meadows is dashed when she finds a child desperately in need of hope and a cold and sorrowful home haunted by the past. With her characteristic sunny disposition, Marion casts her spell upon the household and slowly brings to life the long-forgotten joy of those within.
Layton Jonquil is a man tormented by the lies surrounding the death of his late wife, but he cannot deny his growing attraction for the beautiful governess whose goodness and optimism have touched his dormant heart. Their connection grows ever stronger, and despite the impropriety of harboring feelings for a servant, Layton's heart whispers that this is the woman he's destined to love. But when Layton's fears about the past become too much to bear and the falsehoods in which they are entangled threaten to shatter his and Marion's blossoming attachment, will true love conquer all?

I don't see it on amazon. Will it be offered as a Kindle book?

Sarah M Eden said...

It absolutely will be available for Kindle!! Sometimes it takes a while for it to show up. If I don't see it by the beginning of next week I'll check with my publisher.

HeatherD said...

Yes, let us know about the ebook! I am dying to read it.

Sarah M Eden said...

I did touch base with my publisher and was told it should be available by the end of this week. I am holding my breath and crossing my fingers. (And I am sorry for the delay. The timing of all that is entirely out of my hands. Hopefully it will show up really soon!)

If I see a book of yours at the book store, I will buy it. I read and re-read each of them. I LOVE your books. Thank you for writing such wonderful stories. I love your characters-- their wit, their flaws, their quirks, their humanity. I laugh out loud while reading and cause others to look at me funny. Your recently released book "Drops of Gold" takes your writing to a whole new level. I enjoyed the historical context relating to postpartum, depression, suicide, mental illness and its social and religious implications. Great story! I cannot wait for the next one! Keep them coming! I will keep buying them and encourage others to do the same.

I read this book in one day---truly loved it like I do all your books. I think Philip is my favorite character, but I love them all. My only disappointment is that there aren't more books for me to read. Yet:)

I have been so excited for my book to arrive in the mail. It came yesterday. Than you, thank you, thank you for sharing your beautiful stories. I have loved every one of your books that I have read, and have re-read them many times. Spent a wonderful day with the Jonquils and feel happy and content.

It is available on Kindle now :) I was reading your book and my husband walked by and said "Why are you smiling? What are you reading?" What can I say, your books make me happy!

Where can I get a copy? I've checked at a couple of bookstores in the Provo/Orem area and it's not there! Do I have to order it from Amazon? I'm dying to own it and read it a dozen times (since that's what I do with ask your books)

The Seagull Book on University Parkway in Provo had copies as of last Thursday--so, that's a good place to check. If you are at a Deseret Book or Seagull and they don't have copies, they are really good about calling other locations to see if there are copies in other places. (And sometimes they just have the book shelved in an odd place in their store & can help you find it.) Chances are you won't find my books at Barnes & Noble or Walmart or places like that. Your chances are much better at DB or Seagull.
