Walkabout Wednesday: A Smorgasbord of Links, Contests and Fun!

It's Wednesday. Let's go walkabout.

(I'm bringing along a few of my mates as I wander through the vast wilderness of the publishing industry, learning the ins and outs, and having a grand adventure.)

Walkabout, Week 84:

I am attempting to finish a manuscript in a ridiculously short amount of time while preparing for the LDStorymakers Conference the first weekend in May. Thus, I'm a little frazzled. Today's Walkabout Wednesday will be a list of links that will take you to sites that, at least compared to the next few days, are more interesting than this blog is going to be.

I'll be AWOL most of this week, but will return next week for insightful, well thought out posts and a very deep and news worthy INFF interview and... Okay, let's face it. When I return it'll be business as usual: goofiness and fun.

See y'all on the flip side!

  • The newest episode of The Appendix: a podcast for writers is up and available. Go listen and enjoy. (And you can play a little game I like to call "Count How Many Times the Guys Say Something That Makes Sarah Laugh.")
  • Go listen to Sunday's installment of Writing Excuses -- also a podcast for writers, but one that focuses on the craft (whereas the Appendix focuses on industry, news, life of a writer, etc.), and is also older and more successful (but The Appendix will come into its own eventually). Why listen to this Sunday's episode? Because Yours Truly made an appearance and had the wonderful opportunity of talking about Romance! [Someday I'll share the story of how this all happened and how I had no idea until about 30 seconds before we started recording that I was going to be joining the W.E. team for this podcast.]
  • Head over to Michele Paige Holmes' blog for a chance to win a copy of her new historical romance Captive Heart.
  • The deadline to register for the LDStorymakers Writers Conference is April 15th! This is a fabulous conference--editors, agents, fantastic presenters, rubbing shoulders with other authors and a super-cute redheaded Mistress of Ceremonies (ahem). Check it out!
