January's Winner & February's Prize

Normally when making big announcements like this, I open the post by blabbing on about something inconsequential in order to build suspense. After the pointless yacking I generally stick in a "Read More!" link to force my unsuspecting readers to click in order to read the winners. I am sometimes cruel. For this I am somewhat sorry.
I'm not going to do that today (much). It isn't that I've lost my love of literary torture, I simply don't feel well and prolonging anticipation takes way too much energy.

January's giveaway stats:
150 entries (wow. wow.)
the prize: a gift certificate to Cerretta's candy company ---->
winner selection process: all entries were given a number, random.org picked a number, blah, blah, blah

the winner: Amie!

(Amie, send me an email sarah [at] sarahmeden [dot] com so I can get your prize to you.)

February's giveaway:

the prize: an autographed copy of
Courting Miss Lancaster!

I wish I could say that you will receive your copy before they are available in stores but if I said that I would be lying and I'm really not into lying. You see.......

I have a release date for
Courting Miss Lancaster:

March 1st!!!!

February's winner will be randomly selected on March 1st and the book shipped out right away.

Entry break down:

Good luck!

(ignore "Read More!", there's nothing else)

My daughter saw the cover and wanted me to get it for her. She was disappointed when I told her it wasn't out yet. She gets so impatient when she wants to read a book!

I posted a note about your contest here: http://mormonhermitmomsbookhabit.blogspot.com/2010/02/sarah-eden-is-having-book-giveaway.html

March 1st is EXACTLY a month away! (If I were good at math, I could do the count in minutes and seconds as well.)I can't wait to get it in the store and tell everyone how fantabulous you are.

THOUGHTFUL COMMENT:

Here's my comment and I do already have you linked on my blog. later in the month I would love to interview you.

Amie completely deserves to win. First off, her husband is obsessed with chocolate. He won't even try icecream that doesn't have chocolate in it. Secondly, she is an avid reader and loves your books. I am a bit jealous.

Sarah- a signed copy of your book is fabulous no matter when we would get it. Good luck this month.

I don't even know what to say....

Thanks! It has been so fun reading your blog. I enjoyed Seeking Persephone and Ramshackle Knight and can't wait for Courting Miss Lancaster. We hope for your success so the other "gems" you have written will be available in the future! I can't wait to pick up several copies in March. Books are my favorite gift to give.

Sigh. And I so wanted to win.

Oh, well. A book would be even better for me than chocolate would be--and I can't wait to see the finished product!!! Count me in the running.

By the way, I'm sorry you're not feeling well again!! Hope you get back to your healthy, funny, amazing self soon!!

Just saw the count down for Courting Miss Lancaster. Guess where I will be the morning of March 1st! Oh good. I don't wash my hair on Monday mornings so I can be there first thing!

I have always been amazed at people who know what days they do things on. For instance, washing your hair, laundry, cooking a particular meal, and so on. I am lucky to get through each day knowing what I am doing in the next 30 minutes.
Sarah- I was wondering if you ever post about books you read? Things you come across that you find to be particularly wonderful. I am always looking for suggestions. (of course only why I am waiting for your next book to come out)

First, I would love to win a copy of Courting Miss Lancaster. Second, I must confess that I haven’t actually read any of your books, not for a lack of trying. I came across a review for one of your books on GoodReads (Through All Hopes) and immediately went onto Amazon to try and order a copy. After a couple weeks I finally got an email from Amazon saying it was out of print and I wouldn’t be receiving it. I was very disappointed. I heard you will hopefully be rereleasing your books and I can’t wait. I’m SO excited for Courting Miss Lancaster, sounds like a fun novel, and I’ll FINALLY be able to read one of your books!

I put a link to your post on my Facebook account, the link is below. Also, if you’re willing I would love to interview you for my blog (Bookworm Nation). I do a “Waiting on Wednesday” post and would love to do one for Courting Miss Lancaster with a short interview with you??

Thanks,
Kathy (bookwormnation@hotmail.com)

I will be honest...I have been interested in your books, but have shied away from reading them for 2 reasons. 1. I can't get them at my local library. (Possibly one of the smallest libraries in my state...and the biggest reason.) 2. The thought of "What if I don't like it" has crossed my mind--and THEN what would I say? However, after seeing the trailer for "Courting Miss Lancaster" I'm not as worried anymore. :) In fact, it occurred to me that I like you and I like reading what you say on your blog, so why wouldn't I like reading a book that you wrote? And, I will just say now that if I don't win, I plan to purchase the book anyway!

Tip from the Sarah Eden school of tactful reading: If you read a book written by a friend, don't tell that friend you're reading their book until after you finished it, and even then, only tell them if you liked it. If you hated it, just avoid the topic at all costs.
Haha, Amanda. I would think no less of you if you didn't like my books. (Although I think you will.)

Loved the trailer!

The trailer was amazing! I found your blog through Janette Rallison's blog. I can't wait to read your new book!

Sarah M Eden said...

Thanks so much Elizabeth! And welcome--I don't claim to be as cool as Janette, but I at least try to be entertaining!

Just wanted to come out of the shadows and let you know I blerk you. I miss you guys since you have moved, and so I come here to get my Eden fix.

Hope you guys are well!! I loved you INFF with Paul. Really cute! Hope you can get warm soon!!!

I posted about your give away...thehrebiceks.blogspot.com

Good luck on your new book release!! That's so exciting!!

Oh my gosh! So life has been a little hectic and crazy here since Eva's dramatic arrival into the world, and somehow it did not register in my brain... MARCH 1ST!?! That is so soon. I am so excited for you. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of your book for a few reasons. I really want to read one of your books. (I haven't managed to get a hold of the copies of your other books that float around the ward and rumor is that they are no longer available on Amazon) Second reason- I can't wait to see your author photo! :D Congratulations Sarah!!!

I'm excited to read your latest so soon, although my local LDS bookstore is pretty small so I don't know if they'll get it exactly on March first. And since I have a fear of telephones I can't call to see if they have it in before I drive out there. What's the solution?!? Well, if I won the contest, then everything would be perfectly solved.

See? Perfect.

Sarah, the cover is beautiful!!!! And March 1st!!! So EXCITING!! I'll be looking for it! I can't wait! Best of luck to you!

HI! I also have not yet read one of your books, due to the "what if I don't like it" question. Dumb. BUT I LOVE to read and I LOVE romance, and really I need to read a new book instead of re-reading my worn through Jane Austen collection. So I will indeed read this book :) Of course it will be even more fabulous if I win it, then I will have something to brag about! :)
