It's Wednesday. Let's go walkabout.
(I'm bringing along a few of my mates as I wander through the vast wilderness of the publishing industry, learning the ins and outs, and having a grand adventure.)Walkabout, Week 20:
My editor (still love saying that) sent me the cover for Courting Miss Lancaster! I won't go on and on and on about how excited I am. I'll just show you the cover.

I'm giggling. Yes, actually giggling. This is starting to seem real.
PS--As far as number of entries in January's Giveaway, Tanja and Aime are kickin' the chicken.
PPS--Don't forget "I Need Friends Friday" on Friday!
PPPS--Jacob Black is feeling sorely neglected. Check out his INFF interview. (Leave a comment and you'll be entered into January's Giveaway.)

Nice cover. Can't wait to read the black stuff inside. And Tanja will never be the same now that she has been mentioned! We look forward to reading Courting Miss Lancaster for book club in March.
It looks really great!
Squeeeee!
I'll do the Snoopy happy dance for you! It's a great cover! Congratulations! (I can't stop using exclamation points!)
(My one complaint--your name should be bigger. Otherwise, it's fantastic.)
That is awesome Sarah! Congrats!!!
So is the shot of the model from stock footage or did you actually get someone to pose just for your cover? Did you get to have any imput into how the cover looked?
Excellent question mormonhermitmom. I was asked to give some input--they wanted an in-depth description of my main characters as well as information on clothing, etc. from the time period. I sent them a multi-page "dissertation" on fashions of the Regency era complete with paintings from the era to demonstrate what I was talking about. (And I threw in a few PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS tidbits to help prevent major historical inaccuracies.)
Beyond that, I didn't have any input. I sent the info and a few weeks later they sent me the final cover.
The photo isn't stock footage, they actually found a model who matched my description of the heroine (down to the green eyes--now that's something!)
That looks awesome!! And I love how your name is in the TOP right corner...right where it should be! Congratulations!!
Love it. She reminds me of Emma Thompson in Sense and Sensibility. So exciting to get your cover art!
Me likey!
Look who was first this time, Amie. I think it is you who will never be the same! Can't wait for march. I am secretely hoping you will be giving an ARC for let's say maybe February. If that is the case you will get very tired of my comments. Congrats on your success, I love good books.
I absolutely love the cover!!! I can't wait until I can read the words beneath it. :)
By the way, I am passing on to you an award that someone gave me.
