Want to win free books? Looking for a great giveaway? I'm gonna hook you up with a fabulous contest with some of my author friends!

Beginning June 1st, we will be giving away a prize a day. That’s right: 30 days, 30 treasures!

There should be something for everyone: romance, mystery, historical, contemporary, and young adult fiction; children’s picture books; a variety of non-fiction; and just to liven things up even more, we’ve included a few exciting non-book prizes: a free 30 page manuscript edit, for you aspiring authors out there; an e-bay gift certificate; and a gift-certificate for a Vinyl Expressions Quote.

How can you win one of these fabulous prizes? Follow the rules below:

SUMMER TREASURE HUNT RULES:

You can send in an entry for each day’s prize, or only for those prizes that strike your fancy. The rules are simple:

(1) Go to the website or blog indicated for each day, find the answer to the question for that day, then email the answer with your name and mailing address to jdipastena@yahoo.com.

(2) Please send a separate entry for each day and type the day you are entering in the subject line. (Such as: June Treasure Hunt, Day 1; June Treasure Hunt, Day 2, etc).

(3) Deadline for each day: Midnight PST

(4) The winner will be contacted and announced on the day following the deadline.

You do not have to wait until the designated day to enter. You can start sending in your entries right now, or begin entering at any point along the way. And check jdp-news.blogspot.com each day between June 2nd-July 1st to read the names of the winners.

If you have any questions, feel free to email Joyce DiPastena at jdipastena@yahoo.com.

And now…let the treasure hunt begin!

Find the list of sponsors and the trivia questions at: Joyce DiPastena's Website

My day is June 29th and the give-away prize is a free autographed copy of any one of my books!

My little guy is just so grown up.

After two weeks of bonding and being up late at night and spending far too much time together, I have finally christened my little bundle of electronic joy and happiness.

Now you are wondering... How did I arrive at this name? I will tell you, 'cause let's face it, I still have more room in this blog entry.

  • Byron - For Lord Byron who, though purportedly "mad, bad and dangerous to know," was a genius with words.
She walks in beauty, like the night
    Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:

*Sigh* I'm hoping a little of the wordsmith magic rubs off.
  • Austen - For Jane Austen who could write like nobody's business. The queen of the Regency Romance, not because she was into history, but because she lived it.
"The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid."

    You said it, Jane!
  • Dell. Um, hello. It's a Dell.

My favorite part about Little Byron Austen's new name? When he's acting up or giving me grief or I'm just plain frustrated with him... I can call him by his initials. BAD. And that will be very, very cathartic.

I have waited for this day for so long. *wipes tear*

After enduring the trauma of watching my faithful, somewhat reliable, so-old-it-was-practically-an-antique computer pass from "Blue Screen of Death" to "Operating System Not Found," the arrival of this sleek, new, bundle of electronic happiness could not have been more welcome.

I very nearly hugged the delivery man. I did hug the box my latest edition arrived in. I am a very, very, very happy author!

Now on to giving the little guy a name...
