"Happy Dance!"

I just found out this morning that my novel, Seeking Persephone, is a finalist for the 2008 Whitney Awards "Best Romance" category. Let's just say I've been hyper all morning.

And, true to form, only moments after freaking out over my name being on the list, I shifted into full tourist mode and started flipping out over the names of the other authors and the possibility that any one of them might attend the awards gala. Anita Stansfield, Kerry Blair, Orson Scott Card, Stephenie Meyer, Brandon Mull. There is a very good possibility that I might meet one of them.

I probably should put out this friendly warning to Mr. Card - I will probably slip into a catatonic state of shock if I actually get to sit within visual range of the creator of "Ender's Game" - one of my absolute favorite books of all time. So the glassy-eyed, mute, most-likely-drooling redhead at the awards banquet who is probably making you a little nervous: that's just me. I'm not dangerous. I'm only a HUGE fan in a teeny, tiny body!

Having said all that. WAHOO!!!! Feeling good today. Fingers crossed that at least one member of the voting committee votes for my book - probably the only one on the whole list they've never heard of. PSSST... It's a really good book!

Congratulations!!! So exciting. I love Anita Stansfield... I use to babysit her niece and had the opportunity to meet her several times. She's such a nice lady.

Sarah!!! I just found your blog. All right, I did not find it - Paul gave me the link. I am so excited for you. So much so that I cannot express it in a mere comment. Just trust me. I am. I am going to get your book, and spend the next week eating chocolate and basking in your creativity. I am so happy for myself!!!
